Help shape the future of pet healthcare.

When a pet owner messages us at 3am, they’re not looking for a chatbot. They need a real vet, fast. That’s what VidiVet does, and the product you help build is what makes it possible.

VidiVet is an award winning, market leading veterinary triage and support application. We work with over 200 independent vet clinics, the largest vet charity in the UK (PDSA) and have over 1 million people eligible for our platform.

We move fast, test early, and build only what’s truly valuable. Now we’re looking for a Junior Product Owner to join us and help shape what comes next.

This is a hands-on role, working directly with our head of product, developers, our vet team and real users. You’ll be close to the detail, writing tickets, refining the backlog, testing releases, so we build the right things for the right people and we ship solutions that actually work for those that need it most.

You’re probably someone who…

  • Notices when something is harder to use than it should be and can’t help thinking about how to fix it
  • Asks good questions before jumping to solutions
  • Is comfortable with a bit of ambiguity. Startups rarely come with a full manual
  • Loves a tidy Jira board (or at least appreciates why it matters)
  • Is curious about AI tools and already uses them to work smarter
  • Wants to learn fast, take real ownership, and grow into a strong product thinker

What you’ll actually be doing

Most of your time (daily and weekly):

  • Managing and refining the product backlog in Jira, writing user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Capturing and organising feature requests from stakeholders and users
  • Supporting sprint planning and agile delivery ceremonies
  • Testing new releases against defined criteria before they go live

Regularly, with support:

  • Logging and triaging bugs in Jira
  • Creating rough sketches or low-fidelity mockups (Figma or pen and paper) to help communicate ideas before development begins
  • Supporting lightweight user research sessions and documenting what you learn

Occasionally, with mentorship:

  • Helping run structured user interviews and documenting the findings
  • Creating feedback surveys and tracking the insights
  • Contributing to roadmap planning discussions

What you'll bring

We’re not looking for someone who’s done it all before. We’re looking for someone with the right instincts and the drive to grow. Here’s what matters to us:

  • Some prior experience in a tech, digital, or agile environment; a role, internship, training programme, or personal project all count
  • Familiarity with agile workflows and tools like Jira, Trello, or similar
  • A basic understanding of lean, iterative build principles; MVPs, test-and-learn cycles, building for value
  • Strong organisation and communication skills; you can capture a messy request and turn it into a clear, actionable ticket
  • Comfort using AI tools day-to-day, whether that’s ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini for research and drafting, or no-code tools to streamline tasks. You don’t need to be a developer. You do need to be curious about what’s possible
  • Accountability and a genuine willingness to learn on the job

It’s a bonus if you also have…

  • Experience with story mapping, user research, or data and analytics
  • Knowledge of Gherkin syntax
  • Familiarity with no-code automation tools like Zapier, Make, or n8n
  • Experience in a startup, healthtech, or mobile app environment
  • An interest in pets, veterinary care, or healthcare services
  • Exposure to Figma or Google Workspace

What you’ll get

  • Remote-first working,  with the flexibility and trust that goes with it
  • Close mentorship from an experienced head of product
  • Real ownership and meaningful work, your contributions will be used by thousands of pet owners and veterinary professionals
  • Access to Thrive, our mental health and wellbeing app, because we genuinely care about the people behind the work
  • A culture that values honesty, curiosity, and moving fast to learn
